On-Site Respirator Fit Testing for OSHA Compliance
Precision Mobile Testing provides OSHA-compliant respirator fit testing — performed directly at your location to keep your workforce protected, compliant, and productive.
We test all respirator types and brands, including N95s, half-face, full-face, and SCBA masks.
What Is a Respirator Fit Test?
A respirator fit test verifies that a specific make and size of respirator properly seals to an employee’s face. OSHA requires fit testing before initial use and annually thereafter for anyone who wears a tight-fitting respirator.
Precision Mobile Testing performs both Qualitative (QLFT) and Quantitative (QNFT) respirator fit testing on-site, meeting OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134 standards.
Quantitative Fit Testing (QNFT)
Quantitative fit testing uses an instrument to measure the exact amount of air leakage around the respirator’s seal. The device generates a numerical “fit factor” that confirms the respirator provides adequate protection.
This method can be used for any tight-fitting respirator, including full-face, half-mask, or N95 models.
What Happens During a Fit Test
Each OSHA-approved respirator fit test includes seven simple exercises, performed for one minute each, while wearing the respirator:
Normal breathing
Deep breathing
Turning head side to side
Moving head up and down
Talking
Bending over or jogging in place
Normal breathing again
These exercises confirm the respirator maintains a secure, protective seal during regular movements.
We bring OSHA compliance directly to your facility, minimizing downtime and ensuring every employee is properly fitted.
